Norma L. Pfeiffer, 87, of Beatrice, died Friday afternoon, April 7, 2017 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born on February 22, 1930 at Kansas City, KS. She attended elementary school in Steele City and Diller, Nebraska and was in the Class of 1947 at Beatrice High School. She also attended business school in Lincoln. She married Russell Lowrey and they were blessed with two children. Norma worked for Formfit in Beatrice, The Nebraska Department of Corrections, and Pfeiffer Construction Company. She was a talented seamstress. She married Donald Pfeiffer in 1975 and he died in 1996. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice. She enjoyed her family, dancing, traveling, spending winters in Texas and collecting angels.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Carstens and husband Keith of Murray; her son, Thomas Lowrey and wife Jody of Reno, NV; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several cousins; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Katy Loth Allen; her husbands; two great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Allen and his wife Amy; and special friend, Richard Gillies.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be at the Wymore Cemetery. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. on Wednesday in the library of the church. A memorial has been established to the TV Ministry at Centenary UMC. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Wednesday. The family will meet and greet relatives and friends from 6:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. www.foxfuneralhome.net.
